OAKVILLE, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins women's volleyball team continue adding to their roster for next season, announcing the commitment of libero Tyessa Cameron (Niagara on the Lake, Ont.).
"We're really happy to have Tyessa join our program," head coach Scott Hunt said. "It's a huge win for us to bring in another recruit who will be taking a four-year Bachelor degree program at Sheridan. She is a fierce competitor and will fit in well with the culture we are building."
Cameron is fresh off an OFSAA bronze medal, after winning back-to-back SOSSA titles in 2017 and 2018 at Eden High School in St. Catharines. They also posted a fifth place OFSAA finish in 2017.
She played club ball for the Niagara Rapids, posting a first place D2 finish at Nationals in 2016.
"I am excited to play for Sheridan, as it is one of the top college teams in Ontario for women's volleyball," Cameron said. "I am looking forward to the season and working with a knowledgeable and experienced coach, as well as a group of top athletes."
Cameron has accepted an offer to Sheridan's Kinesiology and Health Promotion program at the Davis Campus in Brampton.
"It is an excellent program for my future career choice," she added.
