Men's Rugby Head Coach: Scott Hendry

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Scott Hendry as the new head coach for our men's rugby team. Scott brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to our program.

Background and Playing Career

Scott was born in Paisley, Scotland, and raised in Scarborough, Ontario. He currently resides in Burlington, Ontario. He attended the Ontario Police College and boasts an impressive rugby career spanning 35 years. Scott played for the Balmy Beach Club, representing both Ontario and Canada, earning three international caps.

Coaching Experience

Scott has dedicated 15 years to coaching rugby, demonstrating his leadership and strategic acumen in various roles:

  • Hamilton Hornets (Head Coach): Scott led the team for five years, culminating in a triumphant victory at the Gee Gage Cup (Tier 2 provincial championship) in 2018.
  • Western University (Assistant Coach): During his two-year tenure, the team achieved a commendable #3 ranking in the province for the 2022-23 season.
  • Crusaders RFC, Oakville (Head Coach): Under Scott's guidance, the club has consistently been one of the top teams in the province for three consecutive years.

Vision for the Bruins

Scott is eagerly anticipating his first season with the Bruins, focusing on understanding his players and maximizing their potential both on and off the field. Although he joined the team late in the recruitment window, Scott is optimistic about building a robust recruiting pipeline moving forward.
